What events can be a trigger?

A trigger is the event a rule should react to. You see the list in the Select trigger dropdown when creating an automated action — it is grouped by topic, so there is no need to read it all.

What you can react to in the orders module, broadly:

  • orders — an order arriving, being paid, data changing, being cancelled on the platform, a message from the customer;
  • statuses — entering a status, and an order sitting in one for too long;
  • documents — issuing and cancelling invoices, credit notes and receipts;
  • shipments — a shipment being created and its status changing at the courier;
  • products in an order — added, removed, quantity or price changed;
  • returns — a return form being created and what happens next with the payment and commission;
  • packing — products packed in an order.

Custom events are triggers you create yourself and fire by hand — from a button on the order list or with a keyboard shortcut. You use them when a human makes the decision and the system does the rest.

Some triggers carry a SYNC marker — those take part in communication between modules. If you have more than one module, the list additionally shows triggers gathered into a group named after the source module. See What is Easyitem Sync?

The current list is always in the panel — open the trigger dropdown in the module where you are building the rule. The list keeps growing, so it is worth a look before deciding something cannot be automated. Cannot see your case? Write to us and we will check.
