Warehouse structure — zones, aisles, racks, locations
Work with WMS starts on this screen. Until the warehouse is described, the rest of the module has nothing to stand on.
The structure has four levels, from the top:
- Warehouse — you can have more than one (Add warehouse, Edit, Delete buttons).
- Zone — a part of the warehouse, for example a picking zone and a reserve zone.
- Aisle and rack — each zone shows counters: how many aisles, racks and locations.
- Location — a specific storage place, for example
A-01-L1.
Naming matters. The scheme used on the demo, A-01-L1, means aisle, rack, level — readable both for the picker and for the system planning the route. Agree on it once and keep it across the whole warehouse; renaming a thousand locations later is painful.
You add new elements with the Add zone and Add aisle buttons directly on this screen.
