Automated actions in PIM — triggers and actions

You create PIM rules in PIM → Automated actions with the Add automated action button. The principle is the same as in the other modules: trigger → conditions → actions.

What you react to in PIM: changes to products — a new one appearing, an edit, a change of stock, price, VAT rate or status.

What PIM can perform: change a product's status, raise or lower its stock, and fire a custom event.

PIM mostly triggers and performs little — and that is deliberate. Publishing offers is OmniChannel's job and shipping is WMS's. PIM is the source of truth about the product, so its events set work in motion elsewhere.

Some triggers carry a SYNC marker — those take part in communication between modules. If you have the orders module switched on, an OMS group appears on the list as well.

Custom events are defined in the neighbouring tab and fired by hand. It is worth organising rules into action groups — beyond a dozen that is the only way to stay on top of them.

The current list of triggers and actions is always in the panel and grows with the system.
