Operations — picking shortages and unknown put-away places
The Operations screen lists the things that went wrong and need a human decision. It has two tabs.
Picking shortages — cases where the picker came for goods and did not find them. You see the product, location, user and date. This is the most important list in the module: every row means system stock disagrees with reality, so something is being sold that is not there.
Unknown put-away places — goods placed where the system does not expect them.
What to do: handle a shortage straight away rather than in a weekly batch. On the "Missing product reported during picking" trigger you can build a rule that reacts on the sales side immediately — changing the order status, or (through OmniChannel) pulling the offer from your channels before anyone buys another one.
The reaction on the sales side is possible thanks to Easyitem Sync — the warehouse signal reaches OMS or OmniChannel, modules you need to have switched on. WMS alone can change a warehouse order status, but it will not pull an offer from a channel.
If both lists are empty, the warehouse is running in line with the data — and that is how it should look day to day.
